Celebrate the Year: Looking Back and Towards the Future
Share
As the year comes to a close, it's the perfect time to look back on the journey of the past twelve months. For many, it has been a year filled with both challenges and triumphs. Here I look at what made this year special for me.
What Were the Highlights?
From exciting exhibitions at the Sussex Art Fair in May to the opportunity to exhibit with Jane and Ali Hirst at the Artizan Gallery in Torquay, it's been a year to explore collaborations in many forms. From meeting artists specialising in different genre or artistic voice, to meeting regular, and new, collectors of my fine art has been a rewarding experience, creating connections and friendships that will last a lifetime.
What Were the Challenges?
While the year brought many successes, there were also challenges to overcome. Sales may have been slower than expected, but I found solace in the knowledge that those connections often lead to the most valuable growth in unexpected places and future times.
What's on the Horizon?
Looking forward to the New Year, I have a sense of excitement and anticipation. My first time exhibiting with the South West Academy of Fine Arts in October was just the beginning of new opportunities. An intense and productive artist residency with Emily Ball at Seawhites Studios in November set the stage for even more growth and creativity in the coming year.
So as I reflect on the past year, I feel a deep sense of gratitude for all the collectors who have supported my work. Whether through likes, shares, comments on social media, or the ultimate act of purchasing art, each supporter has played a vital role in my artistic journey. A journey that may take some surprising detours in the coming months.
So, as we bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new, let's raise a toast to all our achievements of the past twelve months, remembering to celebrate the small and the large. Here's to more creativity, more connections, and more art in the year ahead!
